The Public Works Department maintains the physical environment of the Town to ensure the health and well-being of residents, and keep Cottage City an attractive place to live.
Functions:
- Ensure weekly removal of household refuse, bulk trash and yard waste by our contactors.
- Provide for periodic leaf pickup during the fall.
- Clean and maintain Town-owned buildings and lands.
- Clean and maintain streets and sidewalks.
- Maintain the Town right-of-way, including grass cutting, tree trimming and removal of dead trees.
- Ensure snow is removed from Town roadways by our contractors.
- Place and maintain street signs and markings.
- Coordinate with M-NCPPC to maintain parks and playgrounds.
- Assist with setup and breakdown for community events.
