The Cottage City Commissioners voted not to spray for mosquitoes this year and instead to provide residents with information and materials to help control mosquitoes safely and effectively.
Join us for a FREE educational workshop with mosquito control expert Liz Marshall and learn about three mosquito control options available to residents.

Why not spray?
• Research shows that spraying is often not effective at reducing mosquito populations.
• Adulticide spraying at night misses many mosquitoes that are sheltered or not flying.
• Spraying can harm beneficial insects including bees, butterflies, moths, caterpillars, wasps, ladybugs, and beetles.
• The World Health Organization recommends spraying only during disease outbreaks.
• The Maryland Department of Agriculture monitors for outbreaks of West Nile Virus and will notify the Town if conditions require action.
If you cannot attend the workshop, residents may still stop by Town Hall to pick up FREE mosquito dunks.
