New on-demand rider service starts Monday, July 12, 2021

It’s no doubt that COVID-19 has affected the way we live and interact, but also the way we travel.  The Town of Cottage City is no different.  Recently, the Town has made changes to the bus service it provides to seniors.  Starting Monday, July 12 th the Town will provide a van service to replace the Call-a-Bus service previously offered.  The trips will be limited to Mondays and Thursdays from 10 AM to 2PM, limited to a 5-mile radius of the town, and no more than 4 people will be allowed on the van at one time.  Reservations are required.  You can call the town hall at 301-779-2161 to make arrangements.  When requesting a ride, travelers will have a choice of different departure times, but the hour and half hour are recommended.  All travel must be able to be completed within the 4-hour operating time.  24- hour reservations are required but, trips can be booked up to two-weeks in advance. Unfortunately, the van is not handicapped accessible and cannot accommodate wheel-chair riders.  If paratransit is required the town will try to assist in making alternative services available.
